1882 - July 13 - Earp detractor Johnny Ringo is found dead of a single gun shot wound to the head a few miles out of Tombstone. He is found propped up in the fork of a large tree with his boots missing and a single round missing from his revolver. Whether it was suicide or not has been a point of contention ever since.

Tombstone's Rip Roaring 4th of July Celebration - July 3, 4 & 5: The festivities start at 10:00 am on Friday, July 3rd with a miniature golf tournament, craft faire, the Renegade Gem and Mineral Show, and a Quilting 'B'. On Saturday the 4th there will be a Presentation of the Colors by the American Legion as part of this celebration weekend. There will be a Round Robin Softball Tournament at Medigovich Field. And throughout the day on Allen Street there will be games and activities for everyone and music in the park. Fireworks at night will top Saturday off with the Craft Faire, Gem Show and Quilting 'B' on Sunday. And don't miss the parade on Allen Street at 12:30 on Sunday! Pearce/Sunsites Rummage Sale - July 11, 2009
- The Old Pearce Preservation Association is having its monthly rummage sale, Saturday, July 11, that's the second Saturday of the month, at Cochise Self Storage on Frontage Road in Sunsites, just off Route 191. In conjunction with the O.P.P.A. rummage sale will be a book signing by local Pearce author, S.M. Ballard. Susan will be debuting the final book in her "Doc" Holliday trilogy, "Death Takes a Holliday" and will be available to shake hands, shoot the breeze and sign copies of all three of her historical fiction westerns. Two dollars of each book sold will benefit the Old Pearce Preservation Association.
Vigilante Days ~ August 7, 8 & 9, 2009
